Earrings and Corkboard

So I made these earrings:


And corkboard:

I had bought a pack of 4 small squares of corkboard. Then cut up an old tank top I wasn't going to wear again. Used some kool aid to dye it (I know, not a good dye for a cotton material, but I wasn't going to go buy something. And it's not like it's clothes that will be going through the wash, so I thought it might be ok.)

I still have to work on the keeping it on my wall part. They fell immediately after I took the picture. But it's a bit late for me to be hammering on a shared apartment wall anymore.

Catching Up

I got busy with work and school and forgot to update the last several days. So here is the catch up of my thing a days for the last couple days:


Painted these plain wood frames I got. (only $1 each, add a layer of acrylic black paint mixed with water. Now I got four black picture frames for only $4(

I wanted to try some abstract painting- this is one of the paintings I came up with:




(the same as the one above in no-flash vs flash versions. I have no scanner unfortunately.)

Abstract paintings have unfortunately never been a strong area for me.

Day 6 Necklace

I wanted to make a Chakra necklace but I didn't have yellow or "indigo" beads (or the purple is "indigo" and I'm lacking a true purple? I hate the "indigo" vs "purple stuff), so instead it's just a rainbow-ish one:

I started a drawing today. It's going to be a pen drawing in the end, this is just the original pencil sketch. The finished product will take much longer.

That Time of Year!

It's that time of year again. Thing-A-Day!

Today, I did a drawing. It's not good, but I'm glad I put in the effort of practicing my skills. Of course my drawings will not be as good as they used to be, I used to draw all the time. It's been months now since the last thing I drew.



And cell phone picture of the drawin, is not so great. But, no digital camera on me today, and definitely no scanner. So this will have to do.

Unfortunately there were several gifts I made that I thought I took picutres of, and then realized after christmas that I didn't. Oops.

Coloring Time

So I wanted to try coloring a black and white photo on photoshop

This is what I came out with. I was trying for outrageous colors, but it didn't come out as intense as I was aiming for.

Here I tried just adding color to the eyes.

The I added a slight purple hue to everything with the bright purple eyes.

I know these aren't anything awesome, just practicing some general photoshopping skills.

Crochet Chemo Cap

I made this hat for a friend of mine who has stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma for her birthday... the party is tomorrow, but the hat is back in my apartment in East Lansing still, oops...





The pattern was skip two stitches, dc in third stitch, then go back behind that stitch and crochet in the 1st stitch then second stitch. And on each next row do the front diagonal stitch into the front diagonal stitch in the first row.
